Pathways to Finance Nature-Based Solutions for Underserved Communities

Quantified Ventures’ Texas Watershed Coordinator partners with watershed and conservation organizations to identify funding and financing opportunities for nature-based solutions projects. Our goal is to help underserved communities gain access to funds and support projects that create clean, safe drinking water for years to come.

We acknowledge that many watershed and conservation organizations often do not have the bandwidth or expert knowledge required to navigate the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan process.

This stands between watershed and conservation organizations searching for funding to develop nature-based solution projects and access to public finance—namely the nearly $44 billion available during the next 5 years through Clean Water and Drinking Water SRF loans.

Watershed Coordinators provide capacity and expertise to the organizations and the communities they serve to successfully evaluate and navigate the SRF application process. This ensures more public funds (including SRF dollars) make their way to nature-based solutions and smaller, more vulnerable communities.

The time is now to make a dedicated effort to increase investment of these funds and accelerate nature-based solution projects in Texas to achieve the multiple health, community, economic, and environmental benefits.
