DENVER, CO and CHARLESTON, SC—George Kelly and Randy Wilgis, long-time leaders in the environmental sector, today announced the creation of Earth Recovery Partners, LLC, to provide strategic advisory services, performance-based solutions, expertise in enterprise incubation, and serve as a hub for investment for environmental ventures and projects. The company’s three focus areas – built on George and Randy’s collective 35-plus years as forward-thinking operators and practitioners the environmental sector – are nature-based solutions, environmental markets, and technology.

George Kelly, the CEO of Earth Recovery Partners, leverages his deep experience in ecosystem markets, environmental finance, and environmental law to advance outcomes-based environmental solutions using market and performance-based tools. Immediately prior to starting Earth Recovery Partners, George served as a managing director at Quantified Ventures, founder at Bespoke Mitigation Partners, and an affiliate member of Earth & Water Strategies. From 2014-2019, he was the Chief Market Officer for Resource Environmental Solutions, which had acquired Environmental Banc & Exchange, a firm George founded in 1997. George has spearheaded efforts to open nutrient and stormwater markets in the Chesapeake Bay Region; species markets in the Appalachian, Western, and Mid-Western U.S.; stream markets in Texas and the western U.S.; and wetland and stream restoration projects for water quality and carbon markets.

Randy Wilgis, the COO of Earth Recovery Partners, focuses on helping environmental start-ups and early-stage company leaders foresee, avoid, and overcome the many challenges they face as they progress through the various stages of growth. Previously, Randy served as CEO of Hoowaki, LLC, from 2020-2022, and as Chief Solutions Officer for Resource Environmental Solutions from 2014-2018. During his career Randy led the development of multiple projects that enabled major economic development projects to move forward in the face of regulatory challenges, including the Carolina Heelsplitter Mitigation Bank and the Waccamaw Mitigation Bank in South Carolina, both precedent-setting projects.
