B the Change
By Eric Letsinger, CEO, Quantified Ventures
On December 19, 2019, Quantified Ventures rang the bell on another major milestone for the company on its pathway of doing business for good by becoming a Certified B Corporation. This certification represents an external demonstration of our values in action. One of our staff members, Ben Cohen, who leads our Urban and Coastal Resilience Practice, put forth the 'B-Corp idea' about a year ago. After all, our company’s commitment is to improving the health of people and the planet through outcomes-based financing. Each and every step we make along our pipeline of work is about improving outcomes for each of us, especially in communities that are too often overlooked.
After Ben made this suggestion, I grew to see the wisdom in going through the application process and established it as a 2019 priority goal. A small team of us took this initiative and ran with it, while updating the company throughout the process.
On our final retreat for 2019, the news was official, we became a B Corp and joined the over 2000 companies across the globe who are committed to doing good business while improving our world.
This came on the heels of our first-ever impact report where Quantified Ventures is making its impacts transparent to the world. We truly believe in celebrating courage here - the courage of those who choose to make improvements - hard as they can be sometimes - for improving the health of our cities, our air, our food supply, and our citizens in more ways than one.
Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we look forward to our continual progress to do more and do better, together.
